Feather-shaped snowflakes appear in CHRISTMAS FEATHERS, (my first SANTA'S ANIMAL ELVES story) and represent the magical spirit of Christmas that exists in all creatures great and small. I began designing the feather snowflake (on the left) to help me illustrate this concept.
